James founded Aspo Recruitment at the age of 22, working from a computer in his local library while navigating his own apprenticeship, homelessness, bankruptcy, and a recent ADHD diagnosis.

In 2024, he joined the Apprenticeship Ambassador Network, volunteering his time to promote apprenticeships to local businesses and share his story with young people. His advocacy has taken him from government lobbying to presenting at award ceremonies, engaging with the media, and inspiring hundreds of young people to consider apprenticeships as a first-choice pathway.

Now, through Aspo, James is on a mission to scale that impact — helping apprentices get the support they’re entitled to from day one, and enabling businesses to grow their teams through meaningful, sustainable hiring.
